The youth excellence awards were held on the 23rd of February in the Swalec stadium in Cardiff. It was a brilliant night and some of the Bwsted editorial group accompanied by the editors and principle youth officer for Bridgend youth service. Every one turned up in their finery and looking smart for the occasion.

As we walked into the stadium there was an exiting but at the same time nervous vibe. We all grabbed a non alcoholic cocktail and headed for our table. Everyone slowly filtered in ready for the sit down dinner before the official award bit to begin.

It was really posh and there was loads of cutlery on the table. The starter was served and I sat there with a confused look on my face. What knife and fork do you use first? The rest of the meal went well with no cutlery dilemmas. As we were having our meal a caricaturist and magician came around to keep us entertained.

Huw Stephens the radio 1 DJ kicked off the awards and the one we were nominated for was up first. Nerves started to kick in as the entry videos were being played and we all sat there wondering who had won. The winner was revealed and it wasn’t us but we did have a nice glass trophy for being nominated which was nice.

The Bwtsed Editors are very proud of all the young people who take part in the Bwsted website and make it a success. They would also like to thank everyone for their hard work and hope they continue on the project and keep promoting it they way they do.
